Job Summary

The NAPA Auto Parts Private Fleet is seeking a motivated individual with a desire to start a career in the fast-paced, rewarding fleet transportation management business. This individual will be responsible for managing and coordinating transportation logistics to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods and materials. This role involves scheduling shipments, working with carriers and vendors, monitoring transportation performance, and resolving any issues that arise during transit.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments • Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery of goods • Track shipments and update stakeholders on expected delivery times • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards • Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and related documentation • Handle issues related to delays, damage, or loss during transportation and find appropriate solutions • Collaborate with DCs, TLT Carriers, and customer service teams to streamline shipping processes • Analyze transportation costs and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce expenses • Prepare and generate reports on transportation activities and performance metrics

Keeping the yard organized by positioning trailers appropriately and managing traffic flow • Work with location team regarding equipment assignment and movement (trailers and tractors) • Complete all paperwork associated with the dock to ensure loads are completed timely • Perform Hostler duties as needed

Utilizing proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, McLeod software, internet search engines, and Copier/Scanner to support daily functions, including acting as the subject matter expert and point of contact regarding McLeod Software questions and troubleshooting system problems/error messages • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management and to adhere to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination • Strong organizational and multitasking skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly • Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices • One year of experience operating a Forklift or minimum of two years Hostler experience and using other dock equipment • Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus

Physical Demands / Working Environment

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights, typically 25 to 50 pounds or more, depending on the job duties • Pushing and Pulling: Capability to push and pull carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment loaded with materials throughout the warehouse • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of a shift • Bending and Stooping: Capacity to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to retrieve items from shelves, bins, or storage racks • Climbing: Can climb ladders or stairs to access elevated storage areas or perform maintenance tasks • Operating Equipment: Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers • Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle small objects, operate machinery controls, and perform tasks requiring precision and accuracy • Repetitive Motion: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as scanning barcodes, sorting items, or packaging products, throughout the shift • Physical Endurance: Stamina and endurance to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets • Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries
