Transportation Coordinator

Purpose:

This role is a part of Ravago's Domestic Transportation Department. The department supports ~30 of Ravago's Business Divisions and manages a transportation budget of ~$125M and ~150,000 shipments annually. As a Transportation Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing a designated region and handling all LTL, TL, Intermodal, and Bulk moves within that region. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for booking all shipments, helping to reschedule as needed, negotiating rates, and managing communications with external & internal partners. The Transportation Coordinator is a main point of contact for Ravago commercial teams and is responsible for answering any questions, handling escalations, and providing logistics solutions for our sales and customer service groups. The Transportation Coordinator will be expected to collaborate closely and remain engaged with the rest of the Transportation team.

Key Areas of Accountability:

• Act as a direct contact for Account Managers, Customer Service Representatives, Product Coordinators, and Management for any questions about shipments
• Manage a designated region (based on shipment origin-point) and maintain responsibility of scheduling/coordinating all shipments moving within the region
• Actively monitor your designated shipments within our TMS and ensure shipments are being booked with as much lead time as possible
• Communicate and manage relationships with our carrier and warehouse partners
• Ability to provide afterhours coverage for 2-3 weeks of the year (overtime pay provided)
• Occasional travel to other Ravago locations and partner facilities to support business needs
• All other duties as assigned

Knowledge / Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transportation and/or warehousing preferred
• Knowledge of transportation modes and warehouse operations
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
