Position: Transportation Coordinator Safety, Training, and Recruiting
Location: Central Office
Criteria:
- Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent
- Five (5) years of student transportation experience preferred
- Certified Louisiana School of Bus Driver Instructor by LDOE
- Certified Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicle third party examiner willing to obtain certifications needed to become a breath alcohol technician and urine collector for in-house drug-testing program
- Design and implement a comprehensive training program for all potential school bus drivers and bus aides. Program will be in alignment with LDOE preservice training requirements and materials
- Design and implement post-accident training program
- Assist shop management with development and implementation of safety protocols
- Any other duty assigned by the Superintendent/Designee or Transportation Supervisor
Job Goal:
- To help the LPPS transportation department safely and efficiently transport our students by effectively recruiting, training, and certifying bus operators and aides to meet the needs of LPPS and to ensure every driver (bus driver, maintenance staff, and school food service) in the district is trained in safe vehicle operation
