    Description

    Transportation Engineer 3, In-House Design for bridge and structure type projects. This position will be a District 11 employee that will report to District 4 Headquarters in Akron, Ohio. You will be asked to manage projects in District 11.

    What you will do as a Project Engineer:

    • Manage the plan development of multiple complex in-house designed and consultant designed transportation projects through preliminary engineering and detailed design for bridge and structure type projects in District 11.
    • Actively manage the project scope, budget, and delivery of projects on schedule.
    • Lead/facilitate meetings to resolve engineering, NEPA, budgetary and all other challenges impacting project delivery and cost.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders, local agencies, and internal staff.

    Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.

    • Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
    • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
