- Prepare complete streets and multimodal corridor designs integrating pedestrian, bicycle, and transit accommodations in compliance with ADA and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for roadway, transit, and active transportation projects; perform and support technical reviews of work prepared by junior staff.
- Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve design challenges of moderate complexity on multimodal and transit projects, escalating more complex issues to senior staff as appropriate.
- Conduct site investigations, field reviews, and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications; update design requirements as necessary.
- Inspect new construction and existing transportation structures as necessary.
- Support coordination with MARTA, GDOT, ATLDOT, and ARC project managers, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and community partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, structural, landscape architecture, and environmental disciplines.
- Contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical design documentation for new or special-case designs, studies, and innovative solutions.
- Submit technical papers and designs for publication in professional and technical journals; attend conferences, symposia, and industry events to advance the visibility of the firm's products and services.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineering staff; review the work of more junior staff.
- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and public and stakeholder engagement materials.
- Perform other duties as required.
