Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Transportation Engineer Associate, your duties will include, but are not limited to:Reviews quality control plans for materials suppliers and manufacturersUnder the direction of the District Materials Engineer, provides engineering expertise and assistance to the District laboratory, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), Portland and Cement Concrete (PCC), and Aggregate Technicians.Conducts field trials, data collection, and analysis of new products and testing procedures to evaluate their usefulnessAnalyzes traffic data, road conditions, and location to develop bituminous mix design criteria and select appropriate asphalt binders for maintenance and local projectsPerforms pavement evaluation to determine the extent and cause of damage to determine the correct repair procedureLicensure RequirementsPossession of an Engineer certificate issued by the Iowa State Board of Engineering Examiners is required within 24 months of hire.
