The primary duties of the Transportation Engineer are to serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of various transportation projects. Projects may include the preliminary and final engineering of roadway/transportation improvements, intersection design, ADA & bicycle facility design, site development improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections.ResponsibilitiesPerforming engineering calculationsDevelop roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, and transit facilities2D and 3D modelingQuantity development, cost estimating and specification writingSupport quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC)Develop project work plansAttending internal and external client meetingsWork under the guidance of experienced project managersAble to work on multiple design projects concurrentlyFlexible to work with other disciplines to provide support when neededWill lead the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
