The successful candidate will design and manage aspects of transportation projects for state and local governments, including:Development of construction plansCost estimatesBid documentsVarious calculations and quantity takeoffsRole Overview: The Transportation Engineer will design and manage transportation projects, focusing on construction plans, cost estimates, bid documents, and related tasks.Core Responsibilities: Assist in designing and creating construction documents for transportation projectsHandle roadway design components such as typical sections, earthwork, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control, signing and marking, safety features, and traffic maintenance plansProduce construction documents including design, drafting, quantity calculations, specifications, and cost estimatesQualifications: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution2+ years of professional experience in highway/transportation design, including ROW and final construction plans; GDOT and SCDOT experience preferredProficiency with roadway design software like Open Roads, MicroStation V8i, and GEOPAKKnowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, and GDOT/SCDOT standardsPreferred Skills: Licensed Professional Engineer in GAStrong planning, scheduling, organizational, and communication skillsHussey Gay Bell is an ENR Top 500 and Top Southeast Design Firm, committed to recruiting talented professionals.
