Job TitleTransportation Engineer I or II (2600507)Job OverviewThis position is a great opportunity for a candidate to expand their knowledge in Traffic Systems Management. The position duties will cover traffic signal timing, engineering, and consultant contracts management. The employee will be exposed to Timing Design, Adaptive Systems, Automated Traffic Performance Measures (ATSPM) and Connected Vehicle Systems. In addition to working with consultants for intersection signal optimization. This will require a good level of collaboration and coordination. Majority of the work for this hire will be highly specialized areas that are mostly learned on the job. This job exposes the candidate to modern signal equipment and how to optimize them, and our well‑organized operation in responding to new and normal deficiencies during normal and emergency occurrence caused by bad weather. Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.Licenses and Certification: Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.Licensed Professional Engineer*Minimum Qualifications for Transportation Engineer IIEducation: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science; bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS.Experience: 5 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.Licenses and Certification: Valid driver's license.
