Ardurra is seeking a Transportation Engineer III to join our Transportation team in Orlando, FL!Ardurra's Transportation team delivers design expertise across a wide spectrum of projects, from complex multilevel interchanges to urban arterial reconstruction and complete streets. Our portfolio includes major projects such as the SR 417 Widening Project in Central Florida and the SR 40 Widening Project in Marion County, both demonstrating our commitment to enhancing mobility and safety. Each design is tailored to be cost-effective and responsive to client needs across all delivery methods, including Design‑Build and Design‑Bid‑Build. We provide comprehensive planning, engineering design, and construction management to deliver safe and efficient transportation solutions.This role is focused on state roadway design and production, supporting a mix of design‑build and design‑bid‑build projects across Central Florida. The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who can independently execute design tasks using client standards and tools, particularly within a MicroStation / OpenRoads Designer (ORD) environment.Primary FunctionThe Transportation Engineer III performs moderately complex transportation design engineering work with a focus on state roadway projects. This role requires full competency in conventional engineering practices and the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard design techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will contribute directly to the engineering and production of roadway design plans, coordinating with internal teams and ensuring compliance with state standards and project requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop roadway design plans in accordance with client standards, including alignments, profiles, cross sections, and quantitiesUtilize MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for 3D modeling and plan productionPrepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, and supporting documentationEnsure all work products meet client criteria, scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirementsCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams including drainage, traffic, and structuresReview design for constructability, sequencing, and field implementation considerationsSupport design‑build and design‑bid‑build project delivery, adapting to project‑specific requirementsAssist with technical reports, proposals, and engineering analysesProvide guidance to junior engineers, designers, and CADD staffParticipate in QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with standardsMay support construction‑phase services, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittalsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program4–6+ years of transportation/roadway design experienceDemonstrated experience working on FDOT projects and standards (Districts 1, 3, 4, or 5 preferred)Strong proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD)Ability to independently perform roadway design and plan productionPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (or ability to obtain)Experience supporting design‑build project deliveryFamiliarity with Central Florida municipal and county clients (e.g., Orange County, Seminole County, St. Lucie County)Experience coordinating with FDOT disciplines such as drainage, traffic, and utilitiesWhy Ardurra?While Ardurra offers competitive compensation and rich benefits programs, it is our culture that truly sets us apart.
