The Transportation Engineer / Planner is a professional position working under the direction of the City Engineer. Responsible for planning, organizing, performing and supervising various transportation engineering duties and assignments in the Engineering Department. The primary duty of this position is to serve as the Transportation Engineer / Planner for the City of Orem. This position is responsible for the management of all aspects of City transportation projects, the review and approval of various traffic impact studies, the review and approval of all traffic control plans, manage and implement the Transportation Master Plan, planning and implementation of the Active Transportation Plan, planning and coordination with MAG, and addressing citizen complaints and questions about all things related to transportation and traffic calming. Requires a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or related field from an accredited college or university and a Professional Engineering (P.E.) License or an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification in the State of Utah with a minimum of five years of work experience focused primarily in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
