Responsibilities:
Design and analyze highway and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform project development.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential projects.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation engineering.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE license preferred.
5+ years of experience in transportation or highway engineering projects.
Proficient in engineering software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or equivalent.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Previous work experience with AASHTO standards and MDOT SHA projects a plus.
Experience with project management and client relations.
