The Interlines Rates Clerk plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service within the Pricing and Rates Departments. This position works closely with both internal teams and external customers to ensure precise adjustments and accurate invoicing through effective account management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for department-related questions and issues, providing ad hoc training and support.
• Collaborate closely with assigned interline accounts and partners to ensure accurate crediting and payment of Oak Harbor's share of the invoice.
• Manage incoming calls, assisting customers with invoice inquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain department procedures and controls to ensure the accuracy and validity of invoice processing and adjustments.
• Update customer data in the AS/400 system to reflect the most current and accurate information.
• Investigate and follow up with interline customers regarding missing or disputed bills to ensure timely payments are received.
• Leverage Oak Harbor contracts to understand payment terms and conditions specific to each interline account.
• Cultivate strong relationships with interline carrier representatives to facilitate quick problem resolution.
• General office duties and other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• 1+ years customer service experience in a business office environment.
• Outstanding phone etiquette with strong customer service skills.
• Strong PC proficiency and experience using MS Office products required.
• AS400 experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow through.
• Must be detail oriented, self-directed and self-motivated.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership skills with a can-do attitude.
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent required.
