Job Summary: The Transportation Lead will direct activities involved with Transportation operations to include coordinating the movement of Fleet Lease, Factory and Consignment vehicles to and from the auction in accordance with corporate and team guidelines and to ensure maximum production volume in the most profitable manner. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed.
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Provide excellent customer service: 
    • Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention.
    • Act as point of contact for transportation within the local auction and ensure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention. Notify the Transportation Manager of any delays or discrepancies in arrival times for vehicles. 
    • Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment and friendly disposition by greeting others. 
    • Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise management of all serious complaints or incidences.
  2. Perform dispatching/scheduling services:
    • Assist the team with coordination of transportation activities between the auction, customer, office and/or drivers to ensure the department can function in the most efficient and profitable manner.
    • Assist the team with coordination of vehicles to the required destination.
    • Assist with proper staffing relating to the volume of pick-up and delivery orders. Coordinate with Auction Drivers to ensure vehicles are picked up in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Properly dispatch loads for the correct arrival time and location.
    • Follow-up with dealerships/customers to ensure inventory has arrived safely and on time. 
  3. Other responsibilities:
    • Act as the Specialist and strive to follow the team manual to attain department goals.
    • Work with the team and the corporate Transportation department to reduce network costs and improve service.
    • Facilitate the Department of Transportation items for the auction.
    • Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, schedules and accounting from the CarsArrive team and corporate Transportation department. Maintain a good flow of communication with the team and all other related personnel.
    • Report area conditions that may threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss of damage to any property. All incidents should be promptly reported to the designated manager. 
    • Inform designated manager of all breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately. Ensure good preventative maintenance.
    • Practice and promote company values.


Transportation Lead Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of Transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and competent in MS Office and Google products.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs. or less on a frequent basis. 
  • Effective customer relations, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies in all areas.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
