Material Receiving Clerk

Shift Schedule: Mon - Fri 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM

Job Description: Maintains records of incoming material ordered against purchase orders, updates material location changes, resolves inventory discrepancies in regard to Receiving, as well as receiving incomingmaterial to the on hand balance for immediate use. Work hours are scheduled by Supervisor and may include hours when the production employees are working (including some Saturdays). Work is primarily light duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted. Approximately 80% of this position requires sitting at a desk in an office environment. Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to talk and hear. Normal correctable vision is required.

Responsibilities

Receiving duties – 90%

  • Daily receipt of all incoming deliveries, including daily receipts of all Advanced Shipping Notices.
  • Processing of all parts put away to the inventory on hand balance.
  • Updates Inventory parts records upon request, verify inventory movement discrepancies as needed.
  • Communication of any receipt discrepancies to the supplier and Buyer/Planner. Retrieval of copies of any shipping documents from the supplier not sent with incoming material.
  • Provides primary back up for the Shipping Coordinator. Assist with filing of hard copy Sales Orders as time allows.
  • Works with Sales and Service to resolve returns in question.
  • Routes deliveries to specific destinations as indicated, when required.
  • Coordinates logistics for material requiring a return or exchange to supplier.
  • Expedites receipts for Production or Sales when requested.
  • Provides documentation for audit upon request. Research receipt issues related to Accounts Payable.
  • Work regularly with internal and external customers as needed.

Miscellaneous – 10%

  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Some shipping experience including Bills of Lading

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Syspro, etc.
