About the Role
Voltage is seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Logistics Specialist to coordinate, monitor, and optimize domestic and international transportation activities. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving supply chain efficiency by ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party logistics partners to proactively manage shipments, resolve issues, and maintain accurate logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
Transportation Planning & Execution
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across multiple transportation modes (TL, LTL, rail, ocean, and air freight).
- Schedule shipments and select carriers based on service requirements, cost, and performance.
- Monitor shipment status, proactively identify delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
Carrier & Vendor Management
- Communicate daily with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Track carrier performance, freight costs, and service levels to support continuous improvement.
- Support carrier onboarding, rate management, and contract compliance.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare, review, and maintain transportation documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, freight invoices, shipping reports).
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Support audits, claims management, and freight discrepancy resolution.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Track key metrics such as transit times, freight spend, and delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate data within TMS, ERP systems, and internal databases.
- Generate reports and provide insights to support logistics planning and cost optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Procurement, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Finance teams to align transportation plans.
- Support customer inquiries regarding shipment status and delivery timelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transportation efficiency.
Process Improvement & Support
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce transportation costs.
- Support logistics projects, system enhancements, and process documentation.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support supply chain operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
- 3–6+ years of experience in transportation logistics, freight coordination, or supply chain operations.
- Experience working with domestic and/or international transportation providers required.
- Strong understanding of transportation modes, freight terms, and logistics operations.
- Experience with TMS and ERP systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
