What We're Looking For
Primarily responsible for leading Traffic Management Plan (TMP) support during the construction phase of roadway projects and participates in the development of TMPs during the design phase of roadway projects.What You'll Do:

Essential Functions:
Collaborates with construction project managers, project leaders, and construction personnel to support the integration of TMP strategies, including Transportation Operations (TO), Traffic Incident Management (TIM) and Public Information (PI) components for transportation projects of varying size and complexity.
Participates in the development of TMPs by coordinating with design project managers, other consultants, and client staff to support the integration of TMP strategies into phasing and schedules of transportation projects of varying size and complexity.
Provides technical support during the projects’ construction phase by responding to TMP-related questions, reviewing proposed modifications, and assisting project teams in addressing changing field conditions.
Applies federal, state, and local standards and guidelines (e.g., MUTCD, state DOT specifications, local agency requirements) to develop and implement TMP strategies that are practical, constructible, and adaptable to project staging and sequencing.
Participates in review meetings, constructability reviews, and coordination efforts with agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to help ensure TMP strategies are clearly understood and appropriately applied.
Reviews TMP-related submittals, revisions, and alternative traffic control concepts for consistency with approved plans and project intent, providing technical input and recommendations as needed.
Performs quality control reviews of TMPs and traffic control plans prepared by less experienced staff or subconsultants and provides technical guidance and mentorship.
Prepares technical documentation, exhibits, and supporting materials related to TMP development and implementation support.
Regular work zone reviews require valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Transportation Planner (PTP), or similar certification.
Advanced experience developing TMPs for complex urban, freeway, or high-traffic-volume projects.
Experience coordinating TMPs with state DOTs, local agencies, and construction contractors.
Familiarity with traffic analysis tools, traffic control software, or CAD/GIS for plan development.
Competencies:
Advanced knowledge of traffic management planning principles, work zone safety, and applicable regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical, implementable solutions.
Ability to work independently on complex assignments with general supervision.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and client interaction.
Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
Planning and organizing work to meet project schedules and quality expectations.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
