Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The core of this position is to develop and execute a transportation strategy to ensure materials and finished goods move efficiently, reliably, and cost-effectively to support operations, customers, and company growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities of this position, is managing Design Ready Controls transportation function, including: transportation operations, international freight and compliance, problem solving, strategy development, and reporting. A summary of each responsibility is included, but not limited to, the below.

Transportation Operations:

  • Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, suppliers, and logistics providers.
  • Quote, negotiate, and secure freight services, including expedite and specialty freight.
  • Coordinate inbound, outbound, and intercompany shipments to meet production, delivery, and cost goals.
  • Maintain customer freight portals and supplier freight agreements.

International Freight:

  • Manage international shipments including documentation, customs requirements, and trade classifications.
  • Engage actively with Design Ready Controls team members on product compliance and documentation.

Fleet Management:

  • Oversee the Design Ready Controls and Design Ready Fabrication vehicle fleet to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Issue Resolution & Service Performance:

  • Resolve transportation issues, including late deliveries, damaged freight, claims, billing errors, reclassifications, and service failures.
  • Track and report freight costs, carrier performance, on-time delivery, claims, and shipment volume.

Process Improvement & Standardization:

  • Improve transportation processes through new tools, technology, and automation.
  • Create and maintain standard shipping and receiving procedures across all facilities.
  • Engage actively with Design Ready Controls team members in packaging design.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Collaborates effectively with others in a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated leadership experience & influence with direct and indirect reports
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Willpower and ability to learn a new technology, through self-study and thoughtful questioning
  • Proficient in Microsoft, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Detailed oriented

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 DOE

This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, education, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity.
