Job Title: Transportation Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: Bronx, NY
FLSA: Exempt
Operation hours/Days: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Range Salary: $67,000 - $70,000 annually
The Transportation Manager oversees daily transportation operations that support individuals with developmental disabilities in an OPWDD service environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant transportation services, as well as supervising transportation staff and fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation schedules and route coordination
- Supervise drivers, dispatchers, and transportation staff
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD, DOT, Medicaid, and agency regulations
- Coordinate transportation from the Individuals Residential to the day programs and community activities
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, and fleet safety
- Handle transportation emergencies, incidents, and service disruptions
- Maintain accurate transportation records and reports
- Train and support transportation personnel on safety procedures and policies
- Communicate effectively with residential staff, families, and program leadership
- Assist with budget monitoring, fuel usage, and overtime management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous transportation, logistics, fleet management, or dispatch experience required
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and transportation compliance strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, work ethic, customer service, safety and crisis-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with scheduling systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in computer use and operating system navigation.
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL license preferred but not required
