Overview:
Mancon Inc. is currently seeking a Transportation Manager to support warehouse and distribution operations. This position supports mission-critical transportation and shipping operations within a fast-paced Government logistics environment and plays a key role in maintaining efficient material movement, shipment coordination, and operational continuity. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, experience supporting transportation or freight operations within automated logistics systems, and the ability to effectively manage changing priorities, workload demands, and operational schedules while ensuring compliance with applicable transportation and distribution requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a freight terminal responsible for arranging transportation for all issue transactions.
- Fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes.
- Direct employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts, DFTS (if applicable), SDDC Global Freight Management System (GFMS) applications, and completing required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation.
- Plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.
- Redirect workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
- Conduct planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.
- Ensure work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and conditions of the contract.
- Use WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in transportation using DLAs WMS or an equivalent automated WMS within the past five (5) years.
- Secret Security Clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift
Physical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
