POSITION: TRANSPORTATION MECHANIC
RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and provide a safe and reliable bus fleet. This includes emergency repairs, regular and periodic inspections, and maintenance procedures to reduce the frequency of repairs and lower operational and maintenance costs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum applicable experience as determined by the Board of Education.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other school staff.
- Demonstrated knowledge of school bus repair and preventive maintenance.
- Awareness of ASE School Bus Certification with a commitment to become certified within 24 months.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and air brake certification. Must be willing to operate a school bus as needed to support transportation operations.
- Ability to do repairs under the guidance of the Chief Mechanic.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
PAY SCALE: $53,370 - $75,535 (Commensurate with experience)
