Transportation Mechanic II

• 40 hours per week

SALARY NC 07-08

QUALIFICATIONS

• CDL Class A or B with passenger school bus and tanker endorsements required.
• Working knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance.
• Skill to perform tasks associated with engine maintenance, tire replacement, fuel dispensing, and washing vehicles.
• Experience/knowledge of automotive air conditioning.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Willing to be a team player.
• Must obtain NC school bus inspection certification within 90 days of employment.
• Must obtain underground site tank inspection certification in an appropriate time frame set by Transportation Director.
• Paint and Body repair experience preferred.
• Must be able to adhere to all OSHA regulations while performing daily tasks.

DUTIES

• Perform duties in the operation, repair, and maintenance of vehicles in the school transportation program.
• Will be going out to perform early winter-time road inspections.
• Must have the ability to work independently during roadside repairs.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Transportation.
