AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL) moves the physical infrastructure that powers the world"s largest cloud services. Our Transportation Procurement team is a key piece of that mission, securing the carrier relationships, commercial frameworks, and network strategies that keep AWS"s global hardware supply chain flowing reliably and cost-effectively. We operate across all modes spanning globally, managing one of the most interesting spaces in the technology industry.

As a Transportation Procurement Manager, you will lead a team of procurement professionals responsible for strategic carrier agreements and rate negotiations. You will execute sourcing strategies, set the standard for commercial excellence, and serve as a senior thought leader bridging operations, finance, legal, and business stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves building, and wants to enable how AWS moves its most critical physical assets around the world.

Some of the responsibilities include,

  • Own and grow a portfolio of strategic transportation providers with global presence across air, ocean, and ground
  • Lead a team of procurement professionals, coaching them on negotiation strategy, contract terms, and business acumen
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations to drive spend visibility, controllership, and cost reduction
  • Influence senior leadership and serve as a go-to advisor on transportation market dynamics and supplier risk
  • Work at the intersection of data-driven decision-making and high-stakes supplier relationships
  • Contribute to network optimization initiatives, including analytical tools that model global transportation spend scenarios

Key job responsibilities

Commercial Execution

  • Lead sourcing, negotiation, and execution of multi-million dollar, globally impactful transportation agreements across air, ocean, and ground modes
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex multi-modal negotiations; independently manage the most complex deals with minimal oversight
  • Set the direction for spend controllership efforts across a broad portfolio of cost centers;
  • Manage and interpret complex contract business and legal terms;
  • Manage external carrier partners on pricing models and capacity structures,

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Directly manage a team of Transportation Procurement professionals; own their performance, development, and career growth
  • Set vision and goals for the team aligned to ACL's organizational direction; translate strategy into executable team priorities
  • Coach team members on negotiation techniques, business justification standards, and supplier relationship management

Cross-Functional Partnership & Stakeholder Influence

  • Partner closely with Finance teams to monitor and interpret transportation spend trends; proactively identify and implement cost improvement opportunities
  • Influence cross-functional award decisions and champion consistent, favorable terms across the supplier base
  • Apply financial data interpretation skills to procurement decision-making; model total cost of ownership scenarios for carrier relationships and network configurations
