The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager 1 to be part of our District 1 team in Coeur d'Alene. Our team is looking for someone with a strong background in transportation who likes working with diverse stakeholders in a culture that promotes innovation and collaboration. This position will work closely with others to coordinate and manage highway project design/construction using professional project management techniques and principles. This includes project planning, initiation/chartering, development execution, and construction contract administration. The selected candidate must be a self-starter and able to work both independently and with teams to achieve goals. Note: This position requires a driver's record check before a final job offer is made. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: + Prepares highway construction bid packages for advertisement + Administers highway construction packages by making sure contract requirements are being met and by making payments to the Contractor + Prepares project charters which includes detailed scope, schedule and budget along with other technical design such as design standards, minimum level of service, accident analysis, roadway typical, etc. which are necessary for project design and programming + Actively manages the development process as well as contract administration in construction of highway projects + Monitor and control the project tasks, schedules and resources, project estimates, and project scopes + As assigned, represent the District, or Department on various process/technical teams which produce program manuals, assist with policy setting and change management + Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes; + Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public; + Developing and monitoring contracts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: + Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes; + Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public; + Developing and monitoring contracts.
