Transportation Specialist- Afternoons

As a Transportation Specialist in Dedicated Transportation at RXO, you will be responsible for performing all functions of customer service, as well as order entry, load tracking, and driver communication. We want to leverage your skills and years of experience to drive positive results while ensuring a bright future for yourself and RXO.  

Shift hours: Monday- Friday 12:00 pm - 10:30 pm

What your day-to-day will look like: 

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams, ensuring exceptional customer service and proactive communication throughout the transportation lifecycle.
• Monitor and track shipments from pickup through final delivery, providing real-time shipment visibility and timely updates on delays, exceptions, and delivery status.
• Schedule and coordinate delivery appointments to support efficient freight movement and ensure on-time service performance.
• Perform track-and-trace activities, identify potential service disruptions, and collaborate with operations teams to implement timely resolutions.
• Monitor driver performance, hours-of-service, and DOT compliance requirements to support safe, compliant, and efficient transportation operations.
• Process and maintain accurate transportation documentation, including bills of lading, proof of delivery, driver paperwork, and customer order information.
• Support freight payment processes and manage freight claims resolution while ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Enter, update, and maintain shipment data within Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other operational platforms to ensure data integrity and visibility.
• Partner cross-functionally with dispatch, warehouse, and carrier teams to meet customer expectations, service level agreements (SLAs), and operational objectives.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimization, and enhanced transportation performance while balancing customer needs and business priorities.

At a minimum, you’ll need: 

• 1 year of experience in customer service or related field

It’d be great if you also have: 

• High school diploma or equivalent   
• Experience in transportation and DOT regulations
• Solid attention to detail with the ability to multitask
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Omnitracs
