Transportation Specialist

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

Transportation Specialist
As a Transportation Specialist you will be responsible for coordinating inbound waste transportation activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of materials into Company facilities. This role works closely with customers, carriers, operations, and internal stakeholders to schedule truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, optimize transportation efficiency, resolve logistics issues, and support overall service excellence.

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
• Coordinates and manage inbound transportation schedules for truckload and less-than-truckload waste shipments
• Optimizes routing and load planning to maximize efficiency and profitability
• Negotiates transportation rates with carriers to support cost-effective operations
• Serves as a liaison between customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective transportation services
• Troubleshoots and resolve scheduling, transportation, and service-related issues
• Maintains transportation records and scheduling data with a high level of accuracy
• Supports compliance with applicable transportation and hazardous waste regulations
• Collaborates effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve conflicts and achieve business objectives
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education : High-school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in an office environment (required)
• Experience with trucking/scheduling experience with knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) hazardous waste regulations (preferred)
