GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The primary duty for the Transportation Supervision Specialist (TSS) is to be available as scheduled by the Program to ensure coverage at all times when residents require approved off-site or virtual accompaniment. Also responsible for providing support for the Operations department as assigned by the Manager on duty.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (PERFORMS OTHER WORK-RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR)
• Accompanying (including driving company vehicle) and supervising residents during all approved off-site activities, including but not limited to court appearances, medical appointments, and emergency room visits.
• Supervising residents during approved virtual sessions, such as telehealth appointments, virtual court hearings, or other program-authorized remote activities.
• Ensuring the safety, accountability, and compliance of residents while under supervision during transport or virtual participation.
• Documenting and reporting all transports, visits, and any incidents or violations in accordance with program requirements.
• Back-up Operations Monitors when not on a scheduled trip.
• Search property that is brought into the facility by residents and visitors to eliminate the introduction of contraband.
• Conduct random/scheduled pat searches, alcohol tests (breathalyzer)/ urine specimens on residents in accordance with established contract requirements and company policy.
• Communicate effectively verbally and written with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes teamwork.
• Communicate with residents in a professional manner to enhance their self-esteem, dignity, and maintain positive resident relations.
• Regularly patrol the facility to observe, listen to individual and groups of residents, and monitor the state of the facility.
• Conduct facility counts at the required times and verifies that the logbooks are accurate by reporting accurate counts of all residents assigned to the respective facility as directed.
• Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintaining First Aid and CPR Certifications.
• Required to participate in all mandatory training and staff development sessions; and
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
One year of experience in a position of security/customer service responsibility, preferably in a correctional organization. Demonstrated effectiveness in writing and oral communication; First Aid and CPR Certifications (will train for certification); valid driving license, and a clean driving record are required.

Education Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred)
