This supervisory position earns a competitive union salary of $1,600 per week.This is a first shift operation with a predictable work schedule of 6:00am - 2:30pm. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR
As a Transportation Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and developing5-7 driversto achieve strong safety, customer service and on-time delivery performance. As a supervisor, you will proactively engage in anticipating problems and finding solutions.
You are the go-to person for all transportation scheduling and will optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and productivity. You are accountable for managing the fleet of 15 CDL and non-CDL vehiclesthat includes vehicle preventative maintenance, repairs, and scheduling drivers for efficiency, safety, and compliance with all DOT regulations.
Using our business processes and inventory / transportation management software, you will ensure product is received and loaded according to schedule and that customers receive their quality glass product on time via will-call or delivery on one of our trucks. You create a healthy and open work environment by being a role model and making sure our company vision and core values are lived. Communication is key to form strong relationships with customers, vendors, and your team. You are a champion of continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass and will be sought out for your expertise.
