Payrate: $20-$22 per hour
Location: Knoxville, TN (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Tuesday Friday (Overnight Shift | 37.5 hours/week)

Fri: 10:30 PM 7:30 AM
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract (August 4, 2026 December 31, 2026, with potential for extension)
About the Role
We are is seeking a Transportation Technician III (TMC Tech III) to join the Knoxville Traffic Management Center team.
In this control room environment, you will monitor regional roadways using CCTV cameras and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to maintain safe, efficient traffic flow. You will act as a central hub for traffic operations, detecting accidents, dispatching emergency responders, and coordinating with local public safety agencies during live incidents.
Location Requirement: Applicants must reside in Knoxville, TN or the immediate surrounding counties to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Roadway Monitoring: Actively monitor interstates and local roadways using live CCTV cameras and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Incident Dispatch & Coordination: Manage responses to planned lane closures and unexpected traffic accidents. Dispatch appropriate roadway assistance and emergency resources.
Agency Communication: Coordinate closely with law enforcement, first responders, and regional public safety agencies during active roadway incidents.
Systems & Data Management: Operate traffic control software, log incident details, monitor equipment performance, and escalate technical or complex issues to supervisors.
Regional Expertise: Learn and maintain working knowledge of local roadway networks, camera locations, and specialized traffic management software.
Qualifications & Requirements
Location: Must live in Knoxville, TN or surrounding counties.
Computer Proficiency: Basic to intermediate computer skills, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and multi-line phone systems.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-service-oriented mindset.
Shift Availability: Must be fully available to work the scheduled overnight hours (Tue Fri).
Preferred Experience (A Plus, Not Required)
Prior experience in dispatch operations, call centers, emergency response, or transportation/logistics.
Experience monitoring multiple computer screens or systems simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Background in customer service or collaborative team environments.
