Position Title: Transportation Training and Development Supervisor

Department: Safety

Schedule: M-F 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Greeley, CO

Reports to: Safety Director

Position Overview: The Transportation DOT Training and Development Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the compliance, training, and development of transportation personnel to ensure adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role includes reviewing driver applications for minimum qualifications, collaborating with terminal managers to uphold safety policies and procedures, and ensuring the organization's transportation operations meet safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driver Application Review:

  • Evaluate driver applications to confirm they meet company and DOT minimum qualifications standards.

  • Collaborate with Terminal Managers:

  • Work closely with terminal managers to implement and monitor safety policies and procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to ensure terminal operations comply with DOT regulations and company standards.

  • Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on DOT compliance, safety protocols, and operational efficiency.

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs and implement corrective actions.

  • Safety and Compliance Oversight:

  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all levels of transportation operations.

  • Conduct periodic safety audits and follow up on corrective measures.

  • Conduct driver safety performance reviews including positive recognition, coaching, counselling, and disciplinary action.

  • Utilize data, systems, and tools to identify risk behaviours and priorities, to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of training, compliance and safety activities.

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on training outcomes, compliance status, and safety performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, logistics, or a related field.
  • In depth knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
  • Proven experience in training and development, preferably in a transportation or logistics environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks is a fast-paced environment.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Base salary range of $57,784 annually.
