Job Description:

This is a full-time summer seasonal Transportation Worker position that is laid off in the winter. This Position will serve on an Augusta based Striping / Stencil Crew during the summer season responsible for painting pavement markings. Work involves Statewide travel and required overnight stay-away and overtime, the use and preventative maintenance of hand power tools and related heavy equipment to perform assigned duties. May require long hours of work. Work is performed under direct supervision. Preference will be given to applicants with construction and maintenance experience.

For this position candidates must meet the following experience criteria:
  • Must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Required to work at a higher class as necessary and in accordance with required licenses and/or certification
Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements:
  • State-paid Medical examination that includes:
    • a drug test
    • Department's Respirator fit test
  • Class C State of Maine license by first day of employment.
  • Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B State of Maine license during the initial six-month probationary period.
  • Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months.
  • Ability to obtain flagger certification within a specified amount of time.
