Transports patients and
materials to and from departments in accordance with the policies and
procedures.
Transports patients to and from various
departments in wheelchairs or on stretchers, as directed.
Assists nursing or technical staff in
moving patients to/from bed to wheelchair or stretcher.
Transports patients in wheelchairs or
on stretchers within hospital with safety, comfort and dignity for patients.
Maintains proper height on IV set-up
when transporting patient.
Monitors and reports any changes in patient’s condition
during transport to charge nurse.
Advises appropriate healthcare team
members on arrival of patients.
Picks-up and delivers materials as
directed within hospital.
Maintains cleanliness and effective
functioning of transport equipment.
Assists with the pick-up and delivery
of specimens, materials and/or equipment, as needed.
Performs related duties, as
required.

Essential Functions
High School Diploma or equivalent,
required.
Prior related experience, preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively.
