Job Summary:
Serves as a liaison between the hospital, regional EMS agencies, community organizations, and trauma stakeholders. The position is responsible for strengthening relationships with prehospital providers, coordinating trauma and EMS outreach initiatives, supporting injury prevention programs and promoting community education efforts that improve patient outcomes across the continuum of emergency and trauma care.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the hospital and regional EMS agencies.
Fosters collaborative relationships with EMS leadership, providers, and regional healthcare partners.
Coordinates EMS outreach activities including station visits, educational offerings, appreciation events, and feedback initiatives.
Assists with coordination of and participates in OH Event Medicine team .
Facilitates communication regarding trauma activations, patient outcomes, operational updates, and quality improvement activities.
Supports prehospital performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with trauma and emergency department leadership.
Coordinates continuing education opportunities for EMS personnel.
Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based injury prevention programs targeting community health priorities.
Coordinates outreach initiatives focused on trauma prevention.
Collects and analyzes injury prevention data to identify trends and community needs.
Maintains compliance with trauma verification and regulatory injury prevention requirement.
Represents the organization at community events, health fairs, schools, and public safety programs.
Participates in disaster preparedness, mass casualty planning, and regional emergency response initiatives.

Licensure/Certification/Registration
RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND
BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required upon hire AND
Certification of Child Passenger Seat Technician, required within 3 years of employment in this position AND
Stop the Bleed Licensed Instructor through Stop the Bleed Coalition, preferred OR
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor, preferred OR
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor, preferred OR
Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum Instructor through Emergency Nurses Association, preferred
