This student leader will work with the Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Survivor Support Coorditor in the development and provision of UP-branded consent education and bystander intervension curriculum, and trauma-informed service provision best practice workshops. They will assist in planning and coordinating campus events promoting healthy relationship skill-building. They will provide peer confidential advocacy support in accordance with their training and certification to do so by the Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force. They will provide peer mentorship for new interns.

Core Duties

  • Engage in in-person and online education and outreach on consent, violence prevention, and survivor allyship.

  • Assist in developing and providing training on trauma-informed support best practices for campus partners.

  • Support campus survivors of gender and sexual harassment/violence as Confidential Advocate Peer Associate through supportive listening, providing information about campus and community resources, and reporting support needs to the Coordinator.

  • Provide mentorship and support to IVPSS Interns:

  • Assist in Intern Orientation

  • Monthly 1:1 mentorship meetings with each IVPSS intern

  • Be available for regular office hours

  • Lead team meetings in Coordinator's absence.

  • Create, plan, and execute campus events.

  • Attend regular meetings:

  • 1:1 weekly supervision meeting with coordinator

  • Team meetings

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have completed the OR SATF 40-hour campus advocate training certification by the date of hire.
  • Full time enrollment as a student at the University of Portland in good standing.
  • Ability to start no later than the Monday prior to new student orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Will have served at least one prior semester as an IVPSS Intern.
  • Ability to present during live events and via audio/camera for media posts.
  • Will have mentorship or survivor support provision experience, or have completed coursework in counseling/helping professional skills training.
