Job Overview
The Trauma Performance Improvement Clinician (RN) collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager to support and enhance the quality of care provided to trauma patients from pre-hospital treatment through recovery and discharge.
This role is responsible for monitoring trauma patient outcomes, reviewing clinical cases, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and coordinating initiatives that promote safety, compliance, and exceptional patient care. The clinician works closely with physicians, nurses, EMS providers, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate trauma program performance, investigate events, resolve concerns, and drive quality improvements.
The Trauma PI Clinician utilizes advanced clinical expertise and evidence-based practices to ensure patients receive appropriate resources and care. This role also supports trauma education initiatives, participates in trauma rounds, contributes to trauma registry documentation, and helps maintain compliance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma standards.

Licensure & Certifications
Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Current certification in at least two of the following preferred:
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS)
Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and/or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred
Instructor status for TNCC and ATCN preferred
