3 years nursing experience required. Critical Care of Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.
LPH is a Level III Trauma Center with an annual volume of 1000 trauma patients per year. The acuity of patients evaluated and cared for is often high, and the goal of the trauma services department is to ensure that safe and high quality of care is provided. The Trauma Performance Improvement Nurse identifies improvement opportunities and collaborates on multidisciplinary teams to address program development, problem resolution, and regulatory compliance. They serve as a resource for clinical guidelines, workflows and educational programs as well as evaluating data to optimize patient outcomes. Direct patient care is limited but they can evaluate or assist in care when needed.

Pay: $40.86 - $63.33 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant''s relevant experience

Summary:
Implements and evaluates a data-driven program to enhance trauma care quality, safety, and efficiency by facilitating performance improvement activities, identifying best practices, and collaborating with trauma centers, hospitals, staff, and relevant agencies.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements the Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program, adhering to local, state, national and accrediting body standards.
Identifies improvement opportunities through direct observation, chart reviews, and staff input; uses process improvement methodologies to prevent recurrence of issues.
Collaborates on multidisciplinary teams to address program development, problem resolution, and regulatory compliance; participates in developing and evaluating program services and initiatives; and serves as a resource for clinical guidelines, workflows, policies, and trauma program services.
Supports the Trauma Program through data analysis, monitoring compliance with clinical guidelines and workflows, ensuring appropriate levels of performance improvement review, and evaluating patient care to optimize outcomes and resource utilization. May provide direct patient care as needed to evaluate or assist with caring for patients. Additional responsibilities per trauma leadership.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
Trauma Nurse Core Course
Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider within 6 months of hire.
3 years of nursing experience.
