What You Will Do:

Ascension Seton is looking for a PA or AGACNP with leadership experience to join our Trauma Surgery Department and serve as supervisor. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to patients at Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays located in Kyle, TX.  

 

  • Join an established team of physicians and APPs
  • Practice setting: inpatient
  • patient population 15 years and up 
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system
  • Deliver comprehensive direct care by conducting thorough patient histories, physical assessments, and preventative screenings to build an accurate picture of each patient's current health status.

  • Formulate precise treatment plans by ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic procedures, ensuring timely intervention and continuity of care under physician supervision.

  • Manage ongoing health conditions through direct therapeutic interventions and meticulous documentation, ensuring a seamless and high-quality patient care journey.

  • Empower patients and families by providing clear counseling on preventative health, treatment pathways, and community resources to improve long-term wellness and self-care.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date if Nurse Practitioner. Can be substituted with a Physician Assistant license as a preferred credential required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Midwife credentialed from the Texas Midwifery Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
    • Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
    • Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
    • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Physician Assistant Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • CSR-Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

 

Education:

  • Education appropriate for licensure held: Master's degree of Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Nursing Anesthesia Practice, Doctorate of Science in Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Science in Nursing Midwifery, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.

 

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required.
  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences:

Acute Care Certification for all APRN applicants
