Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., including a 30-minute meal break
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: No call
• Float Assignment: Assignments are determined by the nursing supervisor according to staffing and patient-care needs
• Patient Assignment: Typically 1:6, depending on unit needs and acuity
• Orientation: 16 hours

Acute Care Travel Nurse Requirements

• Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of recent experience in a comparable-acuity hospital
• Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or compact/multistate RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior Cerner electronic medical record experience required
• Ability to provide inpatient nursing care across multiple acute care specialties and adapt quickly to changing assignments
• Two professional references required; references may be pending at submission
• Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered
• Royal blue scrubs required

Acute Care Float RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to acute care patients
• Float among medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, orthopedic, neurological, vascular, pulmonary, cardiac, and observation units as assigned
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate promptly with providers and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and unit staff to support smooth transitions between assignments
• Maintain a professional, flexible approach while caring for patients with varied diagnoses and acuity levels
