Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Acute Care Registered Nurse to join our new Admissions Pending Unit. This is a temporary position with a firm start date of either October 5 or October 12, and will last for 26 weeks. The role requires a commitment to a 36-hour workweek, with shifts scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate admission orders for new patients.
• Complete the admission navigator process.
• Document initial admission assessments accurately and efficiently.
• Manage various patient diagnoses, ensuring rapid patient throughput with an ideal length of stay of 4 hours or less.
• May be required to float to other units as needed.
• Be available to work holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Active Kansas state license or a multistate license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA are mandatory.
• No pending certifications or licenses will be accepted.
• No disciplinary actions on license - no exceptions.
• Experience in managing cardiac and anticoagulant drips, such as Cardizem and Heparin, is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and adapt quickly to changing situations.
• Strong time management skills and clinical judgment are essential for success in this role.
