Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg admissions unit position requiring Level 1 trauma center experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Acute care setting within a Level 1 trauma center
• 15-bed unit with all private rooms serving general medical/surgical patients discharged from the ER but not yet assigned to a specific unit
• Nurse to patient ratio of 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to other medical/surgical units as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR, Zebra phones, Omnicell medication system, and Aleris IV pumps

Requirements

• Active RN license (ND or Compact) required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Perform initial patient admissions and provide care until patients transfer to their assigned unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• New, fast-paced med/surg unit with unit-specific training and orientation provided
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible for a local travel rate
• Previous employment history with the health system must be disclosed for review
