• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of nursing experience required
• Prior ICU or intermediate/stepdown nursing experience required; telemetry-only experience is not sufficient
• Experience caring for tracheostomy and ventilated patients required
• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Ability to titrate cardiac and critical care drips in an acute care setting
• Comfort working in a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio environment
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday rotations

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care to cardiac stepdown patients with complex cardiac and medical needs
• Monitor patients using bedside telemetry and Philips monitoring systems
• Titrate drips such as Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and select vasopressors as ordered
• Care for patients with COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, pneumonia, and other acute diagnoses
• Support patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy care, ventilator support, chest tubes, G-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines
• Collaborate closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs to support unit flow and patient safety
• Float as needed within the appropriate level of care based on experience and unit needs
• Document accurately in EPIC and deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care
