Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Advanced Care/EMU unit on night shifts, requiring an active IL RN license, 3+ years of experience, and EPIC/Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

  • Work in the Advanced Care/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) of a hospital setting
  • Monitor EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
  • Collaborate with critical care team and hospitalists on Advanced Care patients
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • 5 weekend shifts required within a 6-week scheduling period
  • Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis
  • No floating required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing
  • BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma center experience required

Additional Information

  • Perform initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans
  • Utilize hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to maintain strong patient and family communication
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days within a 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not exceed 1 year of continuous assignment before requiring a 6-month break in service
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they meet the minimum experience requirements
