Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Medical Surgical Nurse in Sanford, Maine, provides patient-centered care based on wound, ostomy, and continence nursing guidelines, following applicable standards of care. This role functions as a liaison for wound, ostomy, and continence care concerns, offering education to team members and participating in assigned committees. The nurse assesses the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients, contributes to developing individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and executes nursing interventions and therapies. The position involves monitoring equipment, performing complex treatmentsincluding wound, ostomy, and continence careand ensuring patient safety and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in wound, ostomy, and continence nursing; relevant nursing degree; 2 years of experience in inpatient acute wound care, continence care, and ostomy care; 1 year of travel nursing experience; current licensure in the state of Maine
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with complex wound management and patient education on ostomy and continence care
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information: The role demands documentation reflecting all patient care and responses, adherence to safety policies, and competence in handling hazardous materials and waste per regulatory standards. The candidate must be capable of managing complex wound care, ostomy care, and continence care with a focus on patient safety and regulatory compliance.
