Job Title: Anesthesia Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Anesthesia Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS; Certification preferred: Cer.A.T Must-Have: - Knowledge of endotracheal tubes, emergency intubations, intubating LMA, IV insertion, patient positioning, anesthesia machine, and troubleshooting - Experience with breathing circuits, IV catheters, arterial line catheters, and patient transport - Skills in operating room safety, room setup, and turnover processes - Experience assisting anesthesia providers in critical situations Description: The Anesthesia Tech position requires no direct patient care. The technician will be responsible for bringing supplies into the operating room. Knowledge of procedures and equipment is essential. The role involves understanding various modes of anesthesia including general, MAC, and regional. The technician will assist in patient positioning and transport to the operating room. Collaborating with the anesthesia provider during critical situations is a key aspect of the job. Familiarity with anesthesia machines and their checkout and troubleshooting is required. Candidates must exhibit strong safety awareness, including protocols for electrical, fire, and infection control. Prior charge experience in an operating room setting is preferred. Skills in orienting and supporting various patient age groups are necessary.
