Job Title: Anesthesia Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Anesthesia Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have a valid license in hand Certifications: BLS required; Certification as Anesthesia Tech preferred Must-Have: - Knowledge of procedures and equipment - Experience in ambulatory operating rooms and operating room settings - Skills in patient positioning, patient transport, and room setup Description: The Anesthesia Tech position involves no direct patient care. The tech will be required to bring supplies into the room. Knowledge of procedures and equipment is essential. Responsibilities include understanding endotracheal tubes, emergency intubations, and intubating LMA. The role requires skills in IV insertion, patient positioning, and patient transport. Familiarity with anesthesia machines is necessary, including checkout and troubleshooting. Knowledge of breathing circuits and ET tubes is preferred. Use of GlideScope/video laryngoscope and IV catheters/arterial line catheters is expected. The tech will assist anesthesia providers in critical situations. Understanding of operating room safety, including electrical, fire, and infection control, is required. Responsibilities include room setup for the first case and room turnover. Participation in the time-out process for procedures is necessary. Experience with arterial and central venous access is important. This role may include handling various modes of anesthesia such as general, MAC, and regional. Previous charge experience is preferred.
