Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician Profession: Behavioral Health Tech Specialty: Behavioral Health Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience required. License: Must have relevant state license in hand. Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: Locked unit experience required. Experience with vital signs, 4-point restraints, and de-escalation techniques required. Experience leading group therapy preferred. All patients are 18 years old and up. Description: Minimum of 1 year of experience required for this position. Candidates will be working in a locked unit setting. Experience with vital signs and 4-point restraints is essential. De-escalation techniques must be part of the skill set. Leading group therapy sessions is preferred but not mandatory. The role involves caring for adult patients facing acute mental health crises. Focus will be on stabilization and safety for all patients. No on-call or float duties will be required. Candidates must possess therapeutic communication skills. Experience in managing assaultive behavior is required. Basic skills such as obtaining vital signs and assisting with patient ambulation are necessary. Familiarity with behavior management techniques is essential. Candidates should be adept in recognizing medication side effects. Experience handling substance-related disorders is preferred. Ability to engage in crisis intervention is a key requirement. Knowledge of inpatient care and isolation procedures is expected.
