Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Burn Registered Nurse (RN) position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing critical care in a Level One Trauma Center and Utahs only ACS-verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center. The RN will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate and specialized care to adult and pediatric patients with complex burns and wounds, working primarily during night shifts.
Job Details:
Shift Hours: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid compact license, 2 years of recent acute care experience in a relevant specialty, experience with ICU and burn patients, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, Pediatric and adult patient care experience, experience with complex wound management, telemetry interpretation skills, and ability to pass strict telemetry testing with two attempts, including adult and pediatric exams.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience on trauma or burn intensive care units, experience managing invasive procedures such as chest tubes, arterial lines, PICC lines, and ventilator management, familiarity with electronic charting systems, and experience working in a Level I Trauma Center.
Additional Information: Travelers may be assigned to burn patients but will not be asked to perform burn cares; they are required to float as needed; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted; parking permit required via UW Transportation; initial orientation includes 20 hours of training; working on a 11-bed acuity adaptable unit with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, and social services.
