Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent experience in ICU nursing, specifically in a cardiac care setting. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients requiring complex cardiac interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes as necessary.
• Maintain and manage specialized medical equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, CRRT, and epicardial pacemakers.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care options.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience, preferably in a cardiac care unit.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification is required.
• CCRN certification and NIH Stroke Scale certification are preferred.

Work Schedule

The work schedule varies, with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM. Candidates must be willing to work at least two major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).

Unit Information

The ICU is a highly specialized 20-bed unit focused on providing exceptional care for patients undergoing a variety of open heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
