Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN)

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a schedule of 3 x 12 hour shifts, primarily during the day with some late night, holiday, and on-call responsibilities as per unit needs.

Job Description

An Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN) plays a critical role in performing diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions in a clinical setting. The EP RN will prepare patients for procedures, ensure all equipment is functional, monitor read-outs during procedures, and assist in lab analysis and data interpretation. This role also includes assisting physicians with cardiac device implementation and related interventions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with physicians and in-room staff to ensure equipment and supplies are available.
• Facilitate room turnover and ensure timely starts for patient care.
• Assist Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to coordinate scheduled procedures.
• Prepare the sterile field and assist with patient prep and equipment setup during studies and ablations.
• Maintain fluids for ablation catheters and assist with ablator operations.
• Remain patient-focused, assist Anesthesia, and document during studies and ablations.
• Provide backup pacing during cardiac device implants.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Electrophysiology or related field.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
