Job Summary
A Cardiovascular Critical Care (CCL) Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a position in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) located within a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital, TAVR, MITRACLIP, and peripheral interventions. The RN will work a day shift with scheduled on-call and weekend responsibilities, supporting emergent and routine cardiac cases.

• Position Description: Responsible for providing patient care in the Cath Lab department, focusing on post-procedure monitoring, prep, and assisting with interventional cardiology procedures.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation of application process; BLS (American Heart Association certification); ACLS (American Heart Association certification); minimum of 2 years' experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab setting; ability to read strips and titrate drips; familiarity with EPIC EMR system; ability to handle emergent cases; strong patient assessment skills.
• Schedule: 10-hour days with on-call requirements, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience sharing in IR (Interventional Radiology) procedures; ability to work on a floating basis if needed.
• Responsibilities: Monitor and titrate medication infusions, assess patient status, assist during cardiac catheterizations, and coordinate with cardiology team.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Additional Information: The department handles approximately 4-20 cases daily, with cardiologists on call 24/7. The team includes charge nurses and catheterization lab techs, with shifts occasionally extending beyond scheduled hours to complete emergent cases.
